Last year I couldn't understand how Mark ran so many races, and why one of each distance wasn't good enough. After running the Monster Dash half marathon in October though I think I caught his running bug, and I've found myself getting ready to register for at least one race every month from March through October. I'm definitely not going to run a race almost every weekend like Mark (the cost of race registration just doesn't go with a student budget), but he will be a huge inspiration and motivation for me this race season :)
Here are the races I hope to do this spring/summer/fall. Some of them depend on the weddings I have to go to, and my work schedule:
March 24 & 25 - Holy Half marathon (Notre Dame, IN); Shamrock Shuffle (Chicago, IL) - one of these two races
April 1 - Chi-town half marathon (Chicago, IL)
May 26 - Soldier Field 10-mile (Chicago, IL)
June 9 - 13.1 (Chicago, IL)
June 23 - Rock 'N Sole half marathon (Milwaukee, WI)
July 22 - Rock 'N Roll half marathon (Chicago, IL)
September 9 - Chicago half marathon (Chicago, IL)
October 7 - Chicago marathon (Chicago, IL)
It'd be fun to get friends to join me on any of these runs! Running with a partner is always more enjoyable.
Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to be in the 50s! In Chicago! In January!!! I can't wait to write about my amazing run I'm going to have tomorrow afternoon.
T-minus 2 days til marathon registration...eek!
